To continue where I left off from when I first mentioned it in a previous blog post, I am writing a prose novella for Young Adults.
I started this one evening a few days ago. To be exact it was February 26th, 2025.
8,716 words later and I can safely and proudly say this is a project that will be worth reading. I have shared the first 8 chapters of this story with family and friends and I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from it. I’m not done with this story just yet. But when I’m done I’ll then I’ll be sending it to a friend of mine for grammatical corrections.
I won’t be sharing the entire story on my blog, I am currently planning on self-publishing with Barnes & Noble Press where I’ll be formatting, illustrating, and designing the entire book for print. I use the word “illustration” loosely for now because I’m unsure if I should put illustrations in this story or just let the characters be better imagined through the reader. Either way, I have a feeling you will all enjoy this book once it’s in your hands and ready to be read.
I will be announcing when this book is available in the future so keep an eye out for that in a future blog post. It might take some time but I know the wait will be worth it.
Thank you for reading my blog and stay tuned for the next update!
Congratulations on your progress! Last summer I wrote a 25,000 word novella (a paranormal thriller) that I am currently revising. I'm not sure if I'll self publish it or keep it in my files as a practice run for a novel-length manuscript.
